The story La Butte À Pétard, is a story which was based on true events in the year of 1755. The Arcadian families of the Pétard community, now Memramcook, New Brunswick, attempting to flee the British forces. Prémélia and Fidèle, two young people from the Pétard community, were separated from their parents. The two have found themselves in the woods hiding with their grandfather. Surviving everything they have been through, the Mi'kmaqs had a huge assist in their survival. Their escape, which the two thought would be short, lasted for eight days, following eight years of struggling.
While reading this book there was always something keeping me intrigued and invested. What I loved most about this book was that it kept me thinking the entire time while I was reading the book. I totally recommend this amazing book by Diane Carmel Léger from @boutondoracadie to everyone.

L'histoire de La Butte à Pétard est basée sur des faits réels survenus en 1755. Les familles acadiennes de la communauté de Pétard, aujourd'hui Memramcook, au Nouveau-Brunswick, tentent de fuir les forces britanniques. Prémélia et Fidèle, deux jeunes de la communauté Pétard, ont été séparés de leurs parents. Les deux se sont retrouvés dans les bois, cachés avec leur grand-père. Ayant survécu à tout ce qu'ils ont vécu, les Mi'kmaqs les ont énormément aidés à survivre. Leur fuite, que les deux pensaient courte, a duré huit jours, après huit années de lutte.
Pendant la lecture de ce livre, il y avait toujours quelque chose qui m'intriguait et m'investissant. Ce que j'ai le plus aimé dans ce livre, c'est qu'il m'a fait réfléchir tout au long de sa lecture. Je recommande à tout le monde ce livre étonnant de Diane Carmel Léger de @boutondoracadie.

Quelle belle histoire. Coquelicot Sur un Rocher par @aurelie_resch était une lecture révélatrice.💯 Ce livre parlé des sujets difficiles tels que la perte de famille et la guerre. Ce livre partage une histoire de différents points de vue.

Une journaliste de guerre et une mère cherche quelque chose à rapporter à son fils, un garçon de 19 ans qui rejoint l'armée pour trouver son importance mais qui a un cœur trop grand et une petite famille vivant au milieu d'une guerre.

Aurélie Resch a fait un excellent travail pour captiver l'émotion de cette histoire en incorporant de la poésie. Cependant, il était parfois difficile de suivre le lieu de l'histoire car il y avait peu de détails. Mais, cela a été compensé dans le développement du personnage.

Après avoir lu ce livre, j'ai tellement de respect pour les soldats, les journalistes de guerre et toutes les personnes qui doivent vivre ces conditions horribles. Vous ne réalisez pas combien de personnes sont touchées par ces situations.

La fin a été déchirante, je recommande fortement ce livre. Si vous cherchez à lire un livre perspicace, émouvant et magnifiquement écrit, achete votre copie de Coqueliot Sur un Rocher par Aurélie Resch aujourd'hui!

What a beautiful story. Coquelicot Sur un Rocher by @aurelie_resch was an eye opening read. 💯This book touches on difficult subjects such as the loss of loved ones and war. This book shares one story from different points of view.

A war journalist and mother is looking for something to bring back to her son, a 19-year-old boy joining the army to find a purpose but has too big a heart and a small family living in the middle of a war.

Aurélie Resch did a splendid job at captivating the emotion in this story by incorporating some poetry. However, at times it was hard to follow the location of the story as there was little detail about the setting. But, it was made up for in the character development.

After reading this book I have so much respect for soldiers, war journalists and all the people that must live through these horrifying conditions. You don`t realize how many people are affected by these situations.

The ending was quite heart-breaking nonetheless, I highly recommend this book. If you are looking to read an insightful, emotional and beautifully written book, get your copy of Coqueliot Sur un Rocher by Aurélie Resch today!

Coquelicot sur un Rocher d’Aurelie Resch est un livre magnifiquement écrit qui suit Carla, Tom, Elaine, Laila, et Amir, alors qu’ils luttent contre les conflits, tant à l’extérieur qu’à l’intérieur. Leurs relations sont tissées de façon unique. Carla est une journaliste de guerre en Afghanistan, qui vit sur une base avec des soldats américains, dont Tom. Dans le livre, elle essaie de trouver quelque chose à la maison pour son fils Théo. Elaine est la mère de Tom. Elle a du mal à se sentir impuissante dans la situation, avec Tom à l’étranger. Laila et Amir, mère et fils, sont des résidents de Kaboul, la capitale de l’Afghanistan. Ils sont séparés par le conflit en cours.

On nous montre le point de vue de trois mères, et leurs fils est une façon unique. Les lecteurs saisissent la guerre du point de vue d’un journaliste de guerre, d’un soldat, d’une mère de soldat et d’habitants de l’Afghanistan.

C’était une lecture incroyable et instructif, avec des personnages puissants et des thèmes forts! 10/10 recommande!

Coquelicot sur un Rocher by Aurelie Resch is a beautifully written book that follows Carla, Tom, Elaine, Laila, and Amir, as they battle with conflicts, both outside and within. Their relationships are woven together in a unique way. Carla is a war journalist in Afghanistan, staying on a base with American soldiers, one of which is Tom. In the book, she’s trying to find something to bring home for her son Theo. Elaine is Tom’s mother. She struggles with feeling helpless in the situation, with Tom overseas. Laila and Amir, mother and son, are residents of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. They become separated by the ongoing conflict.

We are shown the perspective of three mothers, and their sons is such a unique way. Readers get a grasp of the war from the view point of a war journalist, a soldier, a mother of a soldier, and residents of Afghanistan.

This was an incredible and enlightening read, with powerful characters and strong themes! 10/10 recommend!!
