F-Bomb

F-Bomb

From pop icons to working mothers, women are abandoning feminism in unprecedented numbers. Even scarier, they are also leading the charge to send it to its grave. Across North America, women head anti-feminist PR campaigns; they support anti-feminist politicians; they're behind lawsuits to silence the victims of campus rape; they participated in Gamergate, the violent, vitriolic anti-women-in-technology movement; and they're on the frontlines of the fight to end abortion rights. Everywhere we turn there's evidence an anti-feminist bomb has exploded, sometimes detonated by the unlikeliest suspects. Between women who say they don't need feminism and women who can't agree on what feminism should be, the challenges of fighting for gender equality have never been greater.

F-Bomb takes readers on a witty, insightful, and deeply fascinating journey into today's anti-feminist universe. Through a series of dispatches from the frontlines of the new gender wars, Lauren McKeon explores generational attitudes, debates over inclusiveness, and differing views on the intersection of race, class, and gender. She asks the uncomfortable question: if women aren't connecting with feminism, what's wrong with it? And she confronts the uncomfortable truth: for gender equality to prevail, we first need to understand where feminism has gone wrong and where it can go from here.

F-Bomb delves further into anti-feminism concerns. Lauren Mckeon delivers a true bomb by delving into all aspects of anti-feminism. The F-Bomb twists and swirls, looking into the minds of people in need and those who need to be acknowledged. She provides the brutal truth that the entire world needs to hear. Feminist emotions were ingrained in this novel, and it truly made it more special. Mckeon has unknowingly left the book on a cliff hanger, because when you read the book, it makes you want to know what happens next, but in the end, we were just left to wait for the future. I was flooded with emotions while reading this book. Because the writing was so authentic, I felt every feeling a human might experience. The way the book is written initially shows melancholy, then as the book progresses, you get glimpses of optimism and happiness, which is what I like about it. This was my first time reading a book about feminism, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly pleased by the findings. One thing I didn't like about the book was how long the chapters were. It was nearly tiring reading the same topic for such a prolonged period. When reading the book, I just felt like the book could have used more "breaks" < or shifted subjects. Even while I appreciated the amount of detail Lauren Mckeon supplied, it was simply too much in my opinion. However, if you enjoy details, you will love this book. Lauren's determination to maintain her point of view and ensure that her voice was heard in the book was admirable. Because we can only achieve gender equality and tackle gender equality challenges if we all work together to make our voices heard. The book had a lot to take away from it, a lot of knowledge ready to escape the book. It was a wonderful experience reading the book, an experience everyone should have. Overall, this book is a gem and a 3.5 star read for me. I just felt overwhelmed with the details and information that came along with the book. This book is truly a gem though!

I recommend this book.
