BY YOUTH, FOR YOUTH
At Nimbus Ed we believe explorations of Atlantic Canadian stories and identity belong in our schools, that's why we've partnered with Digitally Lit—a digital literacy initiative focused on youth-driven teaching, learning, and empowerment—to create two groundbreaking and diverse new resource packages, designed specifically for Atlantic Canadian teachers and learners!

The first resource offering to pair local books with local youth, our packages are made for teachers who want modern stories, and complementary materials, that speak directly to the age-appropriate lived realities and diverse social emotional learning needs of today’s Atlantic Canadian students.
Whether its read-aloud group activities or self driven online adventures, our wide range of fun and engaging resources allow for both synchronistic and asynchronistic learning while simultaneously helping students feel empowered and included.

With teachers in mind, we've also carefully curated our resources to ensure they are suitable to all reading levels, meet current curriculum outcomes, and are turn-key teacher ready!

Nimbus Education's popular Package 2: Amazing Atlantic Canadian Kids is being adapted for two exciting new titles in Nimbus Publishing's 'Amazing Atlantic Canadian' book series: Amazing Black Atlantic Canadians: Inspiring Stories of Courage and Achievement (Lindsay Ruck, 2021) and Amazing L'nu of Mi'kma'ki (TBD, currently in production).
These adaptations will be offered as Package 3 and Package 4, respectively.
Packages 3 and 4 will each include their own unique character quiz PLUS videos and other digital interactives featuring local youth, authors and notable book figures. And just like Packages 1 and 2, students will be able to toggle between English and French at the click of a button!
These groundbreaking new packages were created to give students the opportunity to learn about local Black and Indigenous history and culture directly from the lived experiences, words, stories and teachings of local community members.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
JACK, Student
It's really cool how another youth came up with this, and we are enjoying it. I really love the book Wereduck!
KIM, Teacher
Students loved learning about youth who are making a difference in Atlantic Canada and reading the stories built around their home province.
JAMIE, Teacher
From day one the students were hooked. Every child in my class was singing out what character they most resembled, and could not wait to get started...it was the best literacy block we had all year. Engagement, invesment and real world connection to a novel and character they never had before.
